Academy 9 - Transformation 2 - In the mood..


Let’s get physical!

All the way back in Module 4, you worked through a list of stretching and flexibility workouts (don’t worry, this isn’t an exam!) that also featured a few dance inspired lessons. I hope you enjoyed them because today you’re getting back in your dancing shoes and getting that cute butt of yours back on the dancefloor.

 

 

 

Dancing is something that a lot of girls do instead of sports when they’re in school and it has a lot of benefits. Girls get to stay supple and learn how to move and then, once they reach the age where their hormones start surging, this morphs into knowing how to show off your body and attract guys without ever having to say a word.

 

The other side of it is that when girls go out together, they will inevitably end up dancing in a group, while the boys watch from the sidelines, too embarrassed or ashamed to go and join them.

 

I can’t promise that you’ll be comfortable with this after today’s lesson or even after you practice, but the more you practice, the more natural it will become, the easier it will be for you to move your body in the correct way and the more fun you will have with it. You might want to go home with a guy at the end of the night but you don’t want to be sat across a table from him in a noisy club when your gal pals are having the time of their lives on the dancefloor and the chance that you can trade up remains.

 

Getting started

This is a practical lesson and we want you to get moving. We’ll start with a warm up, because exercise should always start that way!  

 

This is a fun and dancer orientated warm up and stretching session (as always, if you can’t match the instructor, that’s fine).

The main course

Now that you’re warm, loose and limber you can begin. I’m going to link to a number of suitable videos, pick one and work through it, then tomorrow pick another and so on. Once you’ve been through them once you can repeat them or find similar videos to work with. Your aim is to get over the initial awkward and uncoordinated phase and get to the point where you’re enjoying the movements and they are starting to feel more natural and familiar.

 

As well as some general dancing fun, you’re also going to be learning some much more appropriately sissy dance moves. Your last two days of dance will teach you how to shuffle and how to twerk! You’ve been working hard on making your booty really pop, so we want to give you the skills to show it off. After all, it’s not called the money maker for nothing! ;)

This gives you 7 days of practice. Some of the videos are amazingly cheesy, but that can be a positive. This isn’t a serious practice where you’re trying to be perfect, you’re letting your hair down and having fun. Think about being on the dance floor with all your girlfriends, drunk enough that your inhibitions are a little less than usual and your body a little looser and let yourself go.
