Posture Letter 5 - Exam
Ok girls, come in and take a seat!
Oh girls...that was just wonderful. You’ve all taken to this so well. One of the Trainers who is working on the fashion courses suggested an end of term catwalk show to Miss Frida, so the girls can show off their designs, and I do believe we have a large number of models here who are just ready to go!
So, as you can probably guess from the title you’ve passed through the bulk of the course and this lesson will serve as a summing up with a few pointers and links for further study.
Let’s go over what we’ve learned so far.
Sitting
Sitting down - posture - no fidgeting - standing up
You’re all sitting at the moment (and making a lovely job of it). We also covered sitting down to urinate (don’t worry, this won’t be on any practical exam ever ๐).
Read this article to refresh yourself on the basics. You have had plenty of practical experience with this and might be tempted to skip the reading, but it never hurts to remind yourself of the key points.
Standing
Everyone stand up...did you do so correctly? If not then sit back down (CORRECTLY girls, you really shouldn’t need to be told) and stand up again correctly and assume your standing posture.
We also covered bending down like a lady and that there may be times when that’s not the appropriate option.
A couple of quick videos (poor dears, I wouldn’t want you to get too tired!). First up watch this one for some general pose ideas. It’s a quick one so you can always go back to it later if anything catches your eye.
Another one that is more for fun and aspirational usage than anything else. Notice how even though they are changing position almost constantly, their movements remain graceful and feminine.
Walking
Posture - steps - arms
You can take a seat now, you’re learning! Much better, I don’t think anyone sat down incorrectly.
As well as your general, everyday walking, we covered how to really femme your walk up, walking up and down stairs and a little bit on heels
So let’s have a bit of quiet reading, now this is an article on etiquette and the course is on deportment but I feel they are within kissing distance of each other and I like that the article gives you some ideas about walking in the real world once you graduate and leave the Academy. Once you’re done, fold your hands nicely in your laps and wait for everyone else to finish.
So there you go girls, you now have a good basic knowledge and practical experience of carrying yourself in a manner more befitting of your station. All that’s left is for me to pass out your completion diplomas and maybe make a little speech about how wonderful an experience this has been. If everyone is ready, stand up and make your way to the front of the room one at a time...
Exam
Oh, I am so sorry girls. I know none of you were expecting an exam (I am somewhat of an expert in misdirection) but Miss Frida will be very disappointed if I don’t make sure you’re all up to scratch (and Head Mistress and Madam Yara will make their displeasure painfully clear to me as well).
As you can see, we have a large number of chairs stacked up at either end of the classroom. Come down here, get two of them and place them facing each other with as much distance between them as you can manage (it’s ok girls, they have wheels on so you don’t have to worry about lifting them and ๐ฎbreaking a nail).
Once they’re set up, stand next to one of the chairs (how do you think you should stand?) and glide down the room to the other chair. Once their pause in front of it, sit down and assume a posture. Hold it for at least 30 seconds then switch to another posture and hold for another 30 seconds (minimum). Then stand-up, pause and glide down the room to the other chair. Hold your standing pose for 30 seconds and repeat. Mix in your ultra-femme walk with your regular walk as well.
Once you’re feeling comfortable, call me over and show me. If I’m happy that you’ve got it, you can take a seat and go here. I expect you to get at least 66% and when you’ve completed it, just sit and watch the other girls work (hmm, do you think you should fidget here?).
If I think you can do better, I’ll let you know where I think you’re going wrong and you can continue practicing and try again. I believe in all of you and I don’t want any of you to fail, so I spoke with Miss Frida before I came here and my afternoon schedule is completely free. We have all the time in the world to get this right.
Wrapping up
Ok girls, I’m so proud of all of you, you’ve all passed!
This was my first class at the Academy and you’ve made it such a wonderful experience. You’ve all worked really hard (in and out of class), we’ve had some fun and you’ve all achieved so much. If I wore a hat it would definitely be off to all of you.
As someone once said, deportment isn’t a sometimes thing, it’s an all-time thing. Keep up your practicing and keep an eye on yourself to make sure you don’t fall back into old patterns. Consistent effort will pay tremendous dividends.
Some of the articles and videos I’ve linked to throughout the course are on sites you may want to explore in a bit more depth or have links that you may want to follow. Now you have the basics down, you can start to push yourself into some more advanced areas. How do you eat like a lady or set the table? Can you do it in heels ๐? Can you keep your grace when you’re late and running for the bus or train?
Go and find out then come back and let me know! I look forward to seeing you around campus setting a graceful example for your fellow students.
