Academy 9 - Transformation 5 - Opening your wardrobe

Hi girls!

As part of your transformation, today we’re going to be looking into your wardrobe and looking into how you can make it much more suitable to where you are now.

In this letter, we’re going to talk about getting started and how to think about your needs and wants and in the next one, we’re going to look at how you can plan and work towards achieving your goals and reaching the point where you’re happy with your dress options. Everyone would love to blow off school or work today, cast their responsibilities to the wind and go out shopping for a whole new wardrobe but unfortunately, that’s something that usually has to remain a fantasy!

Beginnings

If you’ve made it this far, you’ve already taken the early steps. At the very least you should have an exercise outfit and plenty of underwear. These fall into the first category of clothing, everyday wear.

Everyday wear clothes are easy to ignore, you get up, get dressed and go about your day. After you’ve worn them for a few days, pantywear will fade into the background and you might end up not giving them any thought beyond wondering why your underwear seems so much more soiled nowadays when you’re doing your laundry.

This is the perfect state of mind for a sissy to be in! Panties are suitable underwear for you, guys don’t find putting on boxer shorts to be thrilling so if panties pass unremarked, then it’s a sign of your progress.

The clothes you wear when you’re relaxing at home are another example of this. When you come home from work and change into a skirt and blouse, you’re doing it because these are the clothes you wear, not because of the thrill they give you. You feel comfortable and yourself in them.

Working it

The next category are your working clothes. This covers the outfit for your job (so maid’s uniform, schoolgirl, princess etc) but the category also includes showier items of underwear. Dressing in a sexually provocative manner is something that classes as work for a sissy, it’s something you put effort into and you expect a reward for it.

Even if you just love wearing your gorgeous babydoll nightie to bed because it makes you feel amazing when you wake up, it’s still an item of work clothing!

So special

The final category is special items. This covers expensive limited wear clothing (e.g. a wedding dress or high fashion outfit) and will usually be bought for an occasion. You’ll know when you need these! You won’t have many items of clothing or outfits that fit into this category unless you’re very lucky.

Inspiration

I know a lot of you have been reading fashion magazines and checking out fashion websites and blogs and twitter feeds and these are all really good tools to help you start thinking about fashion. You also have a wonderful resource that is much more relevant and you can access it for free!

We’ve done this before in other modules (it’s the gift that keeps on giving!), you can go and watch people. You can sit in a coffee shop or just on a seat outside and watch people go by. See what the girls are wearing and pay attention to what you notice and what stands out to you.

Is it something sexy? Or an outfit that fits together really well? Or something that really suits her body type? Taking photos may not be possible, but you can make notes on your phone as an aid to you later when you’re looking for your own.

This will give you a tonne of ideas but it will also show you what your peer group are wearing. Magazines are wonderful and can be a huge help, but they’re not always representative of what women out in the world are wearing.

After you’ve done it a few times, you’ll also find that you’re paying attention to fashion a lot more in your day to day life. You’ll become more aware of what people are wearing and this will make it easier for you to make the correct choices for yourself.

You can also find style muses that you can use to base your look on. They should have a similar body type to you and they should be used as inspiration, there’s no need to slavishly copy them! One of the boons of the internet is that famous people are willing to share a lot of pictures of themselves so you can find them on Insta or Twitter and see what they wear in their day to day lives and use that as a jumping off point for your own style.

The basics

To begin with, you want to buy everyday clothes that are neutral in colour (black, brown, gray, cream, white and blue are all good neutral colours). This might sound dull, especially as one of the joys of being a sissy is the colour it can bring to your life, but these are only a base and neutral colours go well with almost anything. This also has the advantage that you’ll get more use out of them as you can wear them much more often.

Once you have a few pieces like this, you can start to explore bringing in more outré and eye catching colour choices. Three neutral colour skirts and one colourful blouse gives you three outfits that will work but if the skirts are colourful, you’ll need to worry about them clashing or the outfit looking too busy which limits your available options.

Your work outfits and special clothes are a little different. They are very specific and often come with the complete outfit as a set, so the main thing to worry about is sizing.

Underwear beyond your everyday items also has its own rules. Colour isn’t much of an issue beyond making sure different items to be worn together match (red stockings with black panties don’t work!). Again, size is the issue to think about, especially because chances are, they’re not going to be something you wear in public ;)

Homework

Your homework is in two parts. First up, you’re going people watching. The next letter will look at how to build your new wardrobe so you don’t need to worry about that now, you just want to start looking and letting your brain become used to thinking about clothes.

You should set aside a specific period to sit in one place and look at what women who walk by are wearing. Make notes of what catches your eye and spend some time thinking about why, it doesn’t have to be positive it may even be that you start to recognize why some outfits just aren’t working.

Pay attention to women who don’t stand out too. Are they dressed well but not in a way that grabs your focus? Or do they just kind of fade into the background?

The second part is you’re going to compliment a woman on what she is wearing. It can be any item of clothing or even her outfit in general and it can be someone you see every day or a friend or even someone you happen to cross paths with during your day to day (maybe the woman working the checkout has a nice blouse on?), as long as it’s a sincere compliment then you’ve succeeded

I’ll see you in a few days when we’ll look at how you can go about building the perfect wardrobe without breaking the bank!
