Posture Letter 2 - Sitting like a lady

Welcome back girls!

Big hugs to all of you 🤗🤗🤗

Before we begin, I’d just like to say a big, heartfelt thank you to our Head Mistress, Alyssa, for her very kind introduction to my first letter. I’m very grateful to (and in no way slightly terrified of) her. Despite the scurrilous rumors, it’s a complete coincidence that I’m out of the office or answering an important phone call whenever I know she’s going to be visiting Miss Frida.

With that out of the way, let’s dive into today’s lesson.

Sitting

Oh yes, sitting. The great leveller. From the mightiest Queen to the lowliest administrator who doesn’t enjoy a good sit?

As I mentioned in my introduction, I’m an administrator at the Academy and also Miss Frida’s PA. This means my job is office-based and I spend the majority of my working day sitting at a desk.

Sitting was the main focus of my deportment course, Miss Frida wants to make sure I can present a suitably feminine aura to any visitors and that I don’t stand out in her office, which is full of many beautiful objects.

I don’t like to ramble on for too long (unless I’m talking about myself 😜), so let’s take a break and watch a video.

All done? Excellent! Gold stars all round 🌟!

So let’s cover some basic points, ladies don’t spread their legs when they sit, they don’t sprawl out and try to take up as much space as possible. They remain demure and gentile, they keep their legs together (until the appropriate time of course 😉) and they try not to take up more space than they need. This last point is also a basic courtesy. If you’re in public and you sprawl out and take up a lot of space, then you make it unwelcoming or uncomfortable for other people and, as sissies, that’s something we should always try and avoid.

One other thing to notice from the video is that it’s not just the sitting itself. How you enter and leave the chair is important too.

The other point I want to raise that isn’t covered in the video is that a lady doesn’t fidget. This was something I thought was fairly easy, it was drilled into me during my deportment course and how hard could sitting still be? The answer came in my second full week of working for Miss Frida.

Trainer Yara (an absolute sweetheart who also does not terrify me) stopped by to see Miss Frida as she had come up with some rather exciting new corporal punishment techniques she wanted to demonstrate. As the nearest student, I ‘volunteered’ as the subject and discovered that one of the Objet d’art in Miss Frida’s office was an antique French punishment bench. 20 excruciating, tear filled minutes later when Madam Yara’s arm had tired (and I’d repeatedly apologized for almost everything I’d ever done in the hopes of making it stop), I was allowed to stand in the corner for a few minutes to collect myself and then return to my desk.

Most of you can guess what happened next, sitting down was painful and not squirming in my seat was almost impossible. Madam Yara had done a thorough job and there was no position that didn’t hurt like the dickens.

‘Stop fidgeting Becca’ was uttered repeatedly by Miss Frida throughout the day (I’m sure I saw the hint of a smile on her mouth more than a few times) and, somewhat embarrassingly, she had to apologize to Madam Yara for her new PA’s poor performance.

I told you I can talk about myself all day!

Key Points

So girls, remember the key points:

Sitting down - posture - no fidgeting - standing up

Feel free to write these down (and maybe draw a big heart around them with a pink marker). If there was an exam at the end of the course, these would definitely be on there.

Now, let’s take a break and watch another video.

Ok, all done! Another gold star 🌟! You’re all doing super.

So this one covered sitting down. Feel free to watch it a few times so you catch everything.

Next, we’ll look at seated posture. The original video covers two positions and this one has a few more (another gold star 🌟). Don’t worry too much about what the Trainer says about the postures, we’ll get to that (but OMG, I LOVE her accent).

Not fidgeting doesn’t really need a video, if you’d like to see what it’s like, just pause any of the ones showing the seated postures. Changing your posture isn’t fidgeting, just make sure your movements are graceful and ladylike (slow, almost languid and smooth) and don’t change posture too often.

Finally, standing up is simply the opposite of sitting down (no need to write that down girls), so again, this video covers it (no gold star this time, I can’t give them away for everything!).

Hopefully, you now have some ideas that you want to put into practice. If not or if you think you didn’t catch everything, feel free to watch any of the videos again.

Practical Work

Ok girls, that’s the theory out of the way, let’s move on to the practice. For this, you will need a chair. If you have a full-length mirror that will also be very helpful.

What we are going to do should be obvious. In your own time, practice in this order:

  • Sitting down and standing up (don’t bounce up and down like a sissy on her first date, slowly lower yourself down and then slowly raise back up)

  • Postures - at least 3 different postures, practice getting in to them from the position you’re in when you’ve just sat down

  • Holding a posture - sit in each of your postures for 30 seconds with no fidgeting, and when you can do this, hold them for a minute and, if you’re feeling brave, try for 5 minutes. I’ve generally found that once you can comfortably hold a posture for 5 minutes, then much longer times are easy to achieve

  • Switching posture - practice gracefully switching between the postures you’ve been practicing. Focus on getting the feel of the switching movements down and then focus on making the movements graceful

  • Finally, practice the whole thing. Sit down, assume a posture, hold it, switch to a new posture, hold it, stand up

If you have a mirror, once you get a feel for the movements you can watch yourself practicing and any issues should be fairly apparent. Another way to test this is to film yourself and then watch the video back

Well done girls! TWO gold stars for a very good effort (🌟🌟).

    Homework

Don’t forget the file by Vive (download here) (as I covered in the first letter, for those of you uncomfortable with hypnosis listening to it is optional).

You’re very lucky girls, although Miss Frida said homework is a mandatory requirement for the course I’ve come up with something every sissy loves to do, looking enviously at women!

So the main part of today’s homework is a field trip! Go out and watch how women sit. If you go to school or work, then you can see them there. If not, go to a coffee shop or bar (and if you do go to school/work then you should also go to a coffee shop or bar).

An important thing to mention is that as sissies, we should never make anyone else feel uncomfortable. So when you’re watching someone, don’t stare at them for minutes on end.

What are you watching for? How they stand up and sit down and what postures they use. Look at different women in different situations. How do they sit when they are on their own reading or working on a computer? How do they sit when they are chatting with friends, if the friend leaves, does their posture change? How do they sit if they are flirting with a cute boy? If you’re lucky, you might see them before the boy comes along as well so you can see how she changes her posture.

If you have a mobile, you should be able to take notes. After a while, you should begin to get an idea of the appropriate posture to assume in various situations.

Part 2 of your homework is the obvious one, practice! Feel free to watch the videos as much as you like. If you feel you haven’t quite grasped one part of the routine, then just practice that for a while until it begins to feel right. If you’ve got it down pat, practice the whole thing and build up the amount of time you can sit without fidgeting.

Once you have it down and it begins to feel a bit more natural, then change your speed. Do it quickly or slowly and see what that’s like, this can bring up flaws in your technique that would otherwise not be apparent.

Next, begin to apply it outside of the classroom. Adopt a more feminine posture at work or when you’re out with friends. Be more graceful when you’re sitting and standing. It won’t change overnight but if you catch yourself slouching and spreading your legs, sit up and draw your legs in. As you start to become more aware of it, you will start having to use less and less thought to change it.

Finally, I couldn’t let a lesson on sitting pass without mentioning one thing. From now on, you should also always sit when you’re urinating. I know many students won’t use urinals, not only is it intimidating but you can be a bit worried about getting caught staring! Well worry no more because you should always use a cubical and sit. Those of us in chastity will already have to do this but now everyone else will join you.

Wow, I didn’t think I’d be able to talk about peeing without giggling but I managed it!

Well girls, I think we got a lot done today and I hope I’ve given you something to think about. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and we'll move on to our next lesson in 3 or 4 days time.

    Kisses 😘😘
