Academy 4 - Elegance 5 - Girls need to be flexible!
Hi Sweetie
I hope you are having a lovely day today. As you may be able to guess from the title, today's lesson is all about the wonders and benefits of stretching. We’ve focused a lot on your mindset in the earlier chapters and now we want to start a more intense focus on your body.
As Miss Frida mentioned in the overview, graceful movement is a key part of elegance. Think about bending down to pick up something you’ve dropped, would an elegant lady have tight hamstrings and struggle to reach the floor (and so end up bending at the waist)? How about getting into a car when wearing a short skirt (yes, you may want to flash someone, but that should be an option you choose)? Can you even touch your toes?
Stretching and flexibility will help you to perfect graceful movement, but beyond that they are an important aspect of simply having a functional body. Regular stretching promotes good posture, decreases the risk of injury and can even engender a more optimistic outlook.
The more active students amongst you should already have a good stretching practice as it will benefit and improve anything else you do to stay in shape or any sports you play.
Stretching become important as you get older, your body will become tighter and tighter and lose flexibility, interfering with your balance and making slips and fall more likely. Younger students aren’t excused either, the longer you leave it the more range of motion you’ll lose out on. Start young and keep practicing!
If that isn’t motivation enough how about sex? Doesn’t your partner deserve a flexible sissy who can (literally) bend themselves to their Owner’s desires? If you’re not lucky enough to have an Owner at the moment, how about autofellation? Or working to reach the parts you currently struggle to?
I feel it’s always better for physical topics to use videos to illustrate things, so go and watch this.
All done? Excellent. Hopefully you really paid attention and noticed how she was moving. Slowly and seemingly without effort. She never struggled to get into a position or had to force anything, everything was smooth and natural.
Another one? Ok, watch this. Now Tai chi is something I would recommend to anybody but it is especially beneficial in helping to attain graceful movement. Unlike the first video, she moved around on the mat, she varied the speed and also the intensity of her movements. With all that being said, go back and watch it again. At times, she moves quickly but does she appear rushed? Watch her feet and lower legs (this can quite hypnotic). Watch her head, does she ever need to look down and check her position?
Finally, how can we cover feminine grace without dance. Watch this and then this. How many girls start ballet at a young age and what effect do you think this will have? If you’re in a nightclub, watch people dancing, which sex makes a better job of it?
One final video for now. Again, this one deserves many repeat viewings. Watch her hips, watch her hands, gaze in awe at the control she shows. This isn’t just a dance, it’s a seduction. Do you think she needs to keep glancing down? If not, why do you think she does it?
One of the big things to take away from all of the videos is how fluid and flowing the movements are. It’s especially apparent in the videos where the women are moving faster and this is one of the big components of graceful movement. Even if you move quickly, you shouldn’t appear rushed. Your movements should be controlled and purposeful with no wasted effort
Some stretching basics
Stretching works by increasing the range of motion of your joints and improving muscle control and flexibility. Beyond that, it just feels wonderful (think about when you’ve been sitting down for a while focusing on something and you start to stretch).
The other thing to remember about stretching is that progress can be slooooooooow.
Look at the above picture. She starts off displaying a large degree of flexibility, this is a fairly advanced pose involving the knees, hips, back and neck and it still takes her three months to reach her desired goal by increasing the range of motion in her back and neck and control of her lower legs.
Stretching guarantees results, even if you only practice for a few minutes a day, but it needs extreme consistency; it needs to be *every* day. Little and often will work much better than a lot every now and then.
Props can also be exceedingly useful when stretching. Whether it’s a strap to increase your reach, a block or bolster to prop up a body part and relieve some of the pressure or a chair to rest on when you want to practice a stretch but can’t quite make it as deep into the pose as you would like.
When you’re stretching, remember to take it slowly, don’t bounce up and down. Find the edge (you will feel sensation but pain is a big no no) then hold it. Breathe into the tight muscle and concentrate on relaxing it (visualisation can help a lot). You’ll open up like a flower coming into bloom, it doesn’t have to force it’s petals open they natural unfurl.
Ok girls, I hope you enjoyed today. Watch the videos again and see if you’ve missed anything and maybe seek out a few more. Remember though we’re not expecting you to become contortionists but your body should be open and supple enough that graceful, feminine movement can be natural and effortless.
Next time we talk, I’ll help you get started and set up a regular practice.
Speak to you soon!
XOXO
