Academy 4 - Elegance 9 - Plucking your Eyebrows
Hello my darlings!
Today we return to a topic we’ve already covered a number of times already, the importance of good grooming. As we’ve discussed previously, although we approach this from a sissification point of view, grooming isn’t just important to sissies and girls anymore and hasn’t been for a while. It’s now expected that men will also take care of themselves and their appearance, the male grooming industry was up 25% over the 5 years to 2017 and is expected to grow by another 50% by 2024. Waxing salons and nail bars increasingly deal with male clients and no one really bats an eyelid if a man wants to keep his body shaved.
‘I’m definitely guilty of shaping my guy’s eyebrows! I pluck them every other month or so, mostly because it’s fun and he pretends to hate it even though I know he secretly loves his newly groomed brows. A guy going out of his way to get his eyebrows waxed is a little much for me however.’

Male vs Female eyebrows
There are two main differences between male and female eyebrows. Men’s eyebrows are thicker than women’s and they are also straighter. If you compare pictures of both, women’s eyebrows will also tend to look like they are higher on the face than men’s and also spaced wider apart, but this is due to plucking and the effects of their naturally thinner eyebrows.

Let’s get plucking!
We’ll break this down into steps. We’ll start with basic grooming, then move onto shaping whilst retaining a masculine look and then finish with a look at feminine eyebrow shapes. You’ll need your tweezers, your spoolie, a small comb, a small pair of sharp scissors and a mirror.
Grooming
Whilst looking into the mirror, place your comb in the middle of one of your nostrils and then straight up against your face. Where it crosses your eyebrow is where it starts. Repeat this on both sides and then pluck out any hairs that are in between these points. This will avoid any unibrow issues and give your brows a more defined edge.
Next, place your comb on the tip of your nose and angle it so it goes over the outside edge of your eye. Where it crosses your eyebrow is the end of the brow, repeat on both sides and again, pluck out any hairs that are past the end.
Now look closely at your eyebrows and see if any hairs are outside of the natural shape of your brows, there are usually a few and these should all be plucked.
Take your comb and your scissors. Run your comb through your eyebrows and use your scissors to clip any long hairs and continue until you’ve covered both sides. If you have some electric hair clippers, it can be used for a first pass and will speed things up, but your brow is quite fleshy so you need to go over it with a comb and scissors as well to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Finally, take your spoolie and brush your eyebrows from bottom to top and that it’s your eyebrow are groomed.
Male shaping
The key to shaping your eyebrows but keeping them masculine is twofold. Firstly, don’t go crazy! You can always remove more hair but you can’t put it back when it’s gone so err on the side of caution. Once you start drastically thinning your brows they will start to appear more and more feminine.
Next, only shape from the bottom of the brow, beyond grooming leave the top part of the brow alone.
Now find out where the arch of your brow is. Place your comb on the tip of your nose and line it up so it crosses the pupil of your eye. Where it crosses your brow is the arch, take your tweezers and start to pluck the hair on the outside underneath portion of the brow. As I mentioned above, go slowly and carefully make sure you don’t pluck too much.
Don’t worry if your brows aren’t perfectly symmetrical, they should be like sisters not twins.
Female shaping
At this point in your studies you should have a lot of picture of women saved in your Google Drive. Go and have a look at them and pay close attention to the eyebrows. Are any of them wild or ungroomed? Are any of them undefined or in a ‘natural’ shape? I’m willing to bet not.
Eyebrows are one of the key features on a woman's face, getting it right will make them frame your face, give it a more defined look and make your eyes appear bigger.
Why do you want your eyes to appear bigger? Well, there’s a reason they’re called ‘bambi eyes’ and are copied on most Disney heroines, large eyes. Large eyes imply youth and innocence both qualities that men find attractive.
As with everything, styles have changed a lot over the years (give this article a read to get a quick taste of prominent fashions over the last century or so).
When you have the shape you want, use your spoolie to brush the hairs up, if any of the hairs go over the top of your brow, very careful trim them with your scissors.
As feminine shaped brows are thinner, paying more attention to detail is important. Thicker brows can easily hide longer hairs are hairs that are outside the shape you want but thinner brows will make these kind of things stand out more and work against the effect you’re going for.

Homework
This should be obvious! Groom your eyebrows. Pick a day (one where you’re not currently shaving your body) and add grooming your eyebrows to your post shower activities every week. From now on your eyebrows should always be neat and trimmed.
Once you’ve groomed your eyebrows a couple of times, try and shape them, just a little. Don’t do too much, even if you plan on having feminine eyebrows, for now just stick to a more masculine shape and work your way towards femininity gradually.
If you like how they look when they’re shaped, then keep it up during your weekly eyebrow grooming. Otherwise, consider if you went too far or not far enough and try it a little differently. See if it works out better and you can find a shape you’re happy with.
Once you’re comfortable with this, if you want to go for a more feminine shape, start by thinning your brows more. Again, go carefully, you can always take more if you want them thinner! The current fashion is for thicker eyebrows with a more natural shape, so you may want to take that into consideration as well.
If you want to push things further and go beyond your natural shape, have a look at this article. Consider your natural face shape and shape your brows accordingly.
